Celebrate You: The Lavender Project – A Photoshoot to Honor Women in March
Leading with Love: Why We Stepped in Front of the Camera for The Lavender Project
As the owners of MadLove, we believe in celebrating self-love and vulnerability—so we put ourselves in the spotlight for our own Lavender Project. By sharing this moment, we hope to inspire others to embrace their own beauty, confidence, and strength.
March is a month of empowerment, growth, and the celebration of women worldwide. In honor of International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, we’re excited to introduce The Lavender Project—a photoshoot campaign dedicated to helping women embrace themselves, find strength in their stories, and celebrate self-love.
This is an invitation for women from all walks of life to step forward, honor their journey, and reclaim their narratives. Whether you’re embracing your heritage, rediscovering your confidence, or simply taking a moment to appreciate yourself, The Lavender Project is for YOU.
Why The Lavender Project ("LAV-EN-HER")? In a world that often demands more from women, this campaign is a reminder to take a moment to celebrate yourself. The Lavender Project ("LAV-EN-HER") symbolizes finding "love in her"—the love and strength we have within ourselves, especially as women of color, queer women, and those who have faced adversity. It’s a chance to reflect, reconnect, and embrace your beauty.
What to Expect: The photoshoot will be an intimate, empowering experience, where you’ll be guided to express your individuality and unique journey. Whether you want to highlight your heritage, showcase your confidence, or simply capture your inner power, the shoot will be tailored to you. These photos are not just images—they are visual stories of strength, growth, and authenticity.
Here’s what you can expect:
A personalized photoshoot experience with a focus on self-love and empowerment.

The Self-Love Crisis: A Call to Action
Recent studies reveal a concerning trend: many women struggle with self-love and self-esteem. A global report by The Body Shop found that one in two women feel more self-doubt than self-love, with 60% wishing they had more respect for themselves.
This self-doubt is further exacerbated by societal pressures and unrealistic beauty standards, often perpetuated by social media. A study highlighted by Soocial indicates that 60% of people wish they had more respect for themselves, underscoring the widespread nature of this issue.
The impact of these challenges is profound, affecting women's mental health and overall well-being. Psychologist Dr. Jennifer Guttman notes that low self-esteem can lead to increased vulnerability to depression and anxiety, as highlighted in Psychology Today.
Empowering Through Photography
One effective way to combat these issues is through empowering photography sessions. Research published in Frontline Journals demonstrates that artistic representation in photography can positively influence women's self-esteem and self-perception. Participating in a professional photoshoot allows women to see themselves through a different lens, fostering a sense of empowerment and self-appreciation. As noted by Studio1000 Photography, such experiences can help erase negative self-image and promote self-empowerment.
A Local Opportunity for Empowerment
In the spirit of International Women's Day and Women's History Month, The Lavender Project offers a unique opportunity for women in the New England area to engage in a transformative photoshoot experience. This initiative aims to celebrate and empower women, helping them embrace their beauty and strength.
By participating, you can join a community of women dedicated to self-love and empowerment. The Lavender Project is more than just a photoshoot; it's a movement to inspire confidence and self-respect among women.
